You Are Enough. You Are God’s Masterpiece.

This morning started with tears.
Have you ever had those days?
I consider myself a strong woman. I can take the hits. Be flexible enough to accommodate life and all its curveballs. I don’t need sunshine every day.
But I, like you, have those days that are just hard. The days with tears.
Most of them boil down to feeling like I’m not enough. That I’m failing.
But I am enough. You are enough. And we’re not failing but rather succeeding spectacularly.
Moses felt inadequate sometimes, and wasn’t he enough? We’re in good company.
Maybe you’re being persecuted by the Egyptians. Suppose you haven’t been asked out on a date for a while. Maybe your child is sick and you can’t make them feel better. How about that coworker who is criticizing your work? Maybe you have a more than a few extra pounds you don’t know how to shed. Or you’re trying to be happy for your pregnant friend when you really just want a child of your own. Perhaps you’re the sole caregiver for your parent whose health is failing.
Maybe, you’ve had enough. But make no mistake, you ARE enough.
You Are a Creation of God’s
God is perfect. He doesn’t make mistakes. And you’re far from a mistake–you’re a masterpiece. His masterpiece.
You’re beautiful. You are amazing. You’re talented. You can handle life.
Masterpieces aren’t perfect, necessarily. Especially while in progress, which is what we are. But we’re far enough along to see that we are masterpieces and the faults are getting harder and harder to see. And today, we don’t need to work on the faults. Today we’re sitting back in awe of the masterpiece.
And because you’re His Masterpiece, He’s also not leaving you alone to face life. You are enough because God is on your side. He will make up whatever difference between what you can do and what is required.
We Need Each Other
As I’ve been praying for guidance and searching for solutions, I’ve had one thought that keeps coming back to me. Reach out and serve. Serve your husband. Your children. Parents. Siblings. Colleagues. N
God IS with us. But it may be that He is on our side through the person sitting there with you. Let them take your hand. Or take their hand. And help one another.
I called my Mom this morning, not intending to tell her I’d been crying or anything about today’s trials. And yet as they came out, they felt a little lighter just sharing the burden. And she listened, consoled, sympathized, and most of all: told me I was enough. That’s why we need each other. So others seeing our amazing traits and accomplishments can remind us when we’ve forgotten.
When you’re feeling as though you’re not enough, call home. Your earthly parents, yes, if you can. But even more importantly, call your Father. God will answer you.
This message was for me today. Because today I needed it. But if tomorrow you’re having one of those days, know that You Are Enough.
