Investing In Things that Last

The Things That Matter Most
As an accountant by training, I tend to focus on finances. Finances matter to some degree. We can’t exactly live while ignoring finances. But the state of my finances is definitely not what I want to value most. Investing in things that last, that really matter, that’s where I want to focus!
My life has been a whirlwind of change these past few years. I love all the change, most especially because it has brought into my life the things that matter most, my husband and children. It’s also made me rethink my priorities, and what legacy I want to leave my children, what habits and practices I want them to learn from me.
What Do I Value
My real treasures are my husband and children. My extended family. My religion. Friends. I hope that they never think anything is more important than them.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. -Matthew 6:19-21
There are many valuable treasures which we can carry to heaven which are worth investing our lives in. I hope that in all the wealth building going on, that building wealth that matters happens too.
