TREASURE YOUR HOME

Easiest Halloween Dollar Store Wreath

Halloween! My son is head over heels for all of the halloween decorations we see in stores, so it was time to start a few things here at home. With kids though, we want fun and cheap…because who knows how long things will last! Enter: this awesome and easy Dollar Store Wreath!

Here are the supplies:

Twig Wreath
Purple LED Light String (+Batteries!)
Bat Stickers
Cool Twig
Black Tulle or mesh
Silver Tulle or ribbon
Hot Glue

Attaching the lights was my biggest dilemma, because they’re the heaviest part but you need to be able to access both sides to both turn it on and replace the batteries. So I opted for tying it to the wreath with the black tulle, using two pieces. That way I can slip the battery pack out as needed. Then I strung the light string around the wreath and used hot glue to anchor it where I wanted it to drape.

To hold it all in place, I started wrapping in the black tulle.

With a background in place, I then glued the cool twig I found on the ground to the wreath, and then added some silver tulle for a little shimmer.

Three seemed like the right number of bats. These stickers glow in the dark, which is fun, but I’m not a huge fan of the cheesiness factor the exude. I might have opted for cutting bat silhouettes out of cardstock, but my son LOVED them, and since this project was for him, I went ahead and used them. I added a paperclip to the back of the wreath for easier hanging.

And it looks awesome in the dark! Happy Haunting!
