Christ-Centered Easter Decor

I love holidays, don’t you?! I love the decorations, the family time, the treats.

And Easter is so fun as we launch Springtime and warmer weather!

Most importantly, I love the REASON for the holidays. I love celebrating the Lord and His gift to us.

And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

John 20:13-16

But while I love the bunnies and carrots and chicks and the symbols of new beginnings, I always feel like my Easter decorations need more focus on the Savior. There aren’t a ton of options though. So I put together something of my own to bring Jesus into focus.

Here’s what I used:

  • Pictures of Jesus Whatever picture is your favorite is great. I used Simon Dewey prints, Why Weepest Thou and Oh My Father.
  • Wooden Board with Clip Mine was $1 at Michaels, or you could use any piece of wood and glue your own clip or clothespin on. I also like this one for multiple pictures!
  • Palm Branches These looked so fun, I ordered the bunch to try something else as well!
  • Tulips Nothing screams spring to me more than tulips!
  • Ribbon It’s a tiny amount, I used a scrap piece just sitting around.
  • Hot Glue Gun and Sticks Just in case the clip doesn’t hold it!
  • Scissors
  • Wire Cutters

First, I trimmed the palm branch down to fit my frame.

Then, I added tulips and tied them to the palm branch.

Positioning the palm and tulips on the board, I fed some of the leaves through the clip to help hold it in place.

With the extra palm leaves, I decided to make a banner proclaiming “He Is Risen“.

Voila! Then, because I had two pictures and a few extra flowers (and an odd frame laying around) I framed the other picture and hot-glued flowers to the frame.
